5500 Years From Home

In addition to the 250 plus Lyrical Pieces that I have written and received Copyright Protection from the Library Of Congress - I have, also, written a Novel (copyrighted but not Published) entitled 5500 Years From Home. I am currently working on a 2nd Book entitled The Island that I am about 1/2 the way towards completion, at this date.

I have decided to, occasionally, post excerpts from
5500 Years From Home
in this Blog space.

Today, we peruse the 4th page, Chapter 2 – Page 13.
Enjoy !

5500 YEARS FROM HOME

chapter Two ... page 13

Parts Unknown

With the passing of the recent millennium, celestial markings are finding Earth’s vision with greater regularity. Many people will translate the higher activity of things within the cosmic void as anything from an omen of catastrophe to the great unfathomable spectacular beauty and mystery that it is. The skies have been our greatest source of inspiration and imagination and it’s our history, right before us. If we can decipher the meaning, then we can find the beginning and that is our one single goal as a people. Where did we come from ? Where are we headed ? And is there a master manipulator ? If so, where is it located, right now ? At this point in time – we do not have the answers to those celestial queries.

Despite it all, the greatness of the great beyond may be something so romantic and religious that the answer would be debatable even if the solution were at hand. Is space measured in distance or in time ? A straight line in time may not be the shortest route, conversely, the shortest distance between two points in time would not necessarily be a straight timeline.

Since history has been recorded, mankind has looked to the Heavens for his salvation. Many see it as a map to certain events and of course, that could only be true if the view is toward the beginning, from the future. We know, for example, that Mark Twain was born during a Halley’s Comet. And a finite number of years later, died at the next viewing of that particular ball of gas and ice. We know because we can look back. If we could, indeed, look at a certain celestial happening that is to come and tie it to a future event, then we would be using the cosmos as a cosmic map.

Until such a time does occur, we will only be left to ponder the future and record it upon it’s arrival and during cataclysmic developments, we can attach the two and have it for posterity as opposed to the tail wagging the dog.

… something so romantic and religious ..
