Bells Will Be Ringing

Written by: Don Henley
Performed by: Eagles

O Bells will be ringing
this sad sad sad news
Oh what a Christmas
to have the blues
My baby's gone
I have no friends
To wish me greetings
once again

O Choirs will be singing
Oo Silent Night
Christmas carols by candle light
Please come home for Christmas
Please come home for Christmas
If not for Christmas by New Years night

Friends and relations
Send salutations
Sure as the stars shine up above
But this is Christmas
Yeah, it's Christmas my dear
It's the time of year to be with the one you love .

So won't you tell me
You'll never more roam
Christmas and the New Year
Will find you home
There`ll be no more sorrow
No grief and pain
And I'll be happy, happy, once again
There be no more sorrow
No grief and pain
It'll be a happy, Christmas, once again

Front To The Past

When Charles inquired about the EOBs last eleven days with Thom, he only replied that it was more exciting for Thom than it was for him.
.
Upon returning to the house, the EOB asked Thom if he could watch some TV. The adults found this so interesting that a Being that has seen everything from Christopher Columbus to the year 7508 would want to watch a television set. Thom laughed as he explained to all that the EOB could view everything on every channel by just looking at the set’s one viewing channel. Still, Charles and Audrey found it humorous.
.
It was a fact that the EOB could depart for his home at any time but continued his tarriance with the Martins. As a matter of fact, he spent the rest of the week-end there .. mostly watching the television.

Blue Christmas

Words & Music by: Billy Hayes & Jay Johnson
Vocals by: Elvis Presley

I’ll have a blue christmas without you
I’ll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green christmas tree
Wont be the same dear, if youre not here with me

And when those blue snowflakes start falling
Thats when those blue memories start calling
Youll be doin all right, with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue blue blue christmas

(instrumental break)

You’ll be doin all right, with your christmas of white,
But I’ll have a blue, blue christmas

Thom surmised that due to Janice’s funeral the previous day, his kids would probably be excused from School and would be at home. So, on this day, Thom walked out of the barn and looked around. He saw no intruders on his property and no cars parked on the roadway as he had earlier, less than two weeks prior. Once he felt safe, he called for the EOB to come on out and the two started to walk up over the ridge towards the house. By the time they got about half way there, Audrey had spotted them and ran out of the house and raced up to Thom and nearly knocked him over hugging him. Her tears were flowing as were Thom’s and she cried out that her mother had died. Thom explained that he knew about it and they hugged tightly for several minutes. Finally, Audrey looked at the EOB and told him that they should have taken her mother to the Doctor as soon as he mentioned it, but .. Then she stopped and began again that with Thom gone .. and she stopped again. Then, she hugged the EOB as well.
.
As they turned to walk on up to the house, Audrey explained that Charles and the kids had gone over to the People’s Church to get the house Flowers and bring them back to their house. She guessed that they’d be back, soon. She said that she just did not feel like going.
.
Thom asked what the kids had been told about his disappearance. Audrey told him that Cyndi already had an idea that something was amiss because of the way Dusty was subliminally offering information. And if Cyndi knew, then surely, Corey knew. The way it was explained was that it was a family secret that an Astronaut was having trouble and needed their daddy’s help. What made it more improbable was that Janice had passed during that same time. Both of the children are confused that there may be a connection between the two once in a lifetime instances. They don’t know about the EOB being from another time and may be too young to be able to digest it.

… and nearly knocked him over hugging him. ..

Boy oh boy .. what a squeeker !
This week I was playing my Division leader
and the best team in the League ..
Fred & Mark's Team Winner.
They are, also, the highest scoring Team in the League
.. and I am not.
But I did get off to a good start leading 52 - 36 at one point.
Then they got big points out of PHI QB Donovan McNabb
whose Eagles were getting the sh!t knocked out of them by
the San Diego Chargers.
THAT is never a good sign for your opponent's passing game
because they will be throwing the damn ball all over the place
and their opponent will be playing Prevent Defense
allowing tons of yards .. and meaningless TDs, as well.
McNabb threw for over 450 yards
even thiugh they lost.
Neither of us had any MNF players, so ..
going into Sunday night's game, I was losing by
a gazillian freaking points
BUT
I had NE QB & WR Tom Brady & Randy Moss, still
while Fred & Mark had IND RB Joseph Addai.
Brady & Moss really put on a show and before Halftime,
I was only down by 3 points.
Cutting right to the chase, I was winning by 5 points with two plays
left in the game. A Rushing TD is worth 6 points in our League
and Addai got the ball on a Peyton Manning handoff
BUT
was stopped at the 1 yard line (saving my ass)
because Manning threw a TD pass on the last play.
Who cares who won the NFL game - I won my Fantasy game !
108 - 103
.
Okay, I am tied for last place in my Division
BUT I am only one game out of a Playoff berth
with 3 games to play.
I need to pass the Holmes' brothers AND
catch and pass Zach's For Skins (no pun, here).
.
My next week's opponent is the 2nd place Gray Ghosts
who I may catch as well
because they are only 2 games ahead of me.
Sh!t, Fred & Mark's 1st place team is only 3 games ahead of me ..
meaning I still have a shot at 1st frickin' place.
.
Fantasy Football - you gotta love it !

Clubbin’
Down Home

Clyde: Roy, I hope you appreciate me an’ Claude taking you Clubbin', tonight.

Claude: Yeah, this is a place where you can hear some of what they call alternative music.

Roy: Yeah, yeah, yeah .. I like Music. I hope they play Orange Blossom Special !

Clyde: No, no, Roy. This ain’t no Hillbilly Bar. This here music is different. Got that, Roy ? It’s a little bit different.

Claude: The musicians are a bit off the beaten path.

Roy: Off the beaten path. I, I, I .. got it. Off the beaten path. Off. Yeah, .. OFF !.... : - )

A little bit later .. and after a few beers by the boys … … …

Clyde: Claude, what the heck is Roy doing over there on the other side
of the table ?

Claude: I don’t know. He’s got his arm completely under the table. And it looks like his arm is going back and forth. And real fast, like.

Clyde: And he’s got a silly, goofy look on his face. Good golly, his eyes are rolling back in his head.

Claude: Oh my God, he’s .. he’s .. he’s ....:-o

Clyde: ROY ! STOP THAT ! STOP THAT, RIGHT NOW

Claude: ROY ! You’ve done gone and made a big mistake ! You’ve misunderstood us !

Clyde: Yeah, .. we said we was going to take you to listen to some 'OFF BEAT' music !

We’re Not Gonna take It

Tommy:
Welcome to the Camp, I guess you all know why we're here.
My name is Tommy
And I became aware this year
If you want to follow me,
You've got to play pinball.
And put in your earplugs
Put on your eyeshades
You know where to put the caulk
.
Hey you getting drunk, so sorry!
I've got you sussed.
Hey you smoking Mother Nature!
This is a bust!
Hey hung up old Mr. Normal,
Don't try to gain my trust!
'Cause you ain't gonna follow me any of those ways
Although you think you must
.
Guests:
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
Never did and never will
We're not gonna take it
Gonna break it, gonna shake it,let's forget it better still
.
Tommy:
Now you can't hear me,
your ears are truly sealed.
You can't speak either,
your mouth is filled.
You can't see nothing,
and pinball completes the scene.
Here comes Uncle Ernie to guide you to
Your very own machine.
.
Guests:
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
We're not gonna take it
Never did and never will
Don't want no religion
And as far as we can tell
We ain't gonna take you
Never did and never will
We're not gonna take you
We forsake you
Gonna rape you
Let's forget you better still.
.
Tommy:
See me.
Feel me.
Touch me.
Heal me.
Listening to you,I get the music.
Gazing at you,I get the heat.
Following you,I climb the mountains.
I get excitement at your feet.
Right behind you,I see the millions.
On you,I see the glory.
From you,I get opinions.
From you,I get the story.

Janice’s Dirge
.
Thom stopped observing the visualization port. He hung his head down and could not escape the emptiness that pervaded his senses. His heart panged for his wife, Audrey, knowing how this tragedy must be tearing her heart out and Thom wasn’t even there to subjugate her angst. Audrey was having to deal with her husband being ripped from her by an Extrinsic Being from 5500 years in the future and her mother’s passing so soon, thereafter. For a while, Thom could not confine his emotions and he wept. The EOB whose people had long since learned to quell their saddened emotional suffering, put his arm around Thom and stood silently by him in a true show of humane comforting.
.
Soon, Thom was inert because no predominate time movement can possibly occur without a reasonably lucid human from the 2000s being overcome with fatigue syndrome. The fact that Thom had just experienced the emotional roller coaster of his affairs with Debra and then having his wife’s mother pass away without his consoling presence and after a night of precious little sleep – could only conclude that he rest. For, soon, he’d be home.
.
When Thom awakened, he rubbed his eyes and in a childlike angelic intonation, asked ‘are we there, yet’ ? The EOB allowed that they would indeed be at Thom’s home, momentarily. Thom had two questions. What amount of time had passed in Coventry since his disappearance .. and how long had it been since Janice’s requiem ?
.
The answers were: it had been 11 days since he was seized and Janice passed 6 days later. She was buried just the day before this one. It was, now, Noon on Friday January 9th, 2009.
.
The EOB has secretly and silently moored the Orb right back in the loft of the Martin’s barn. The hatch opened and Thom crawled out. He offered the EOB an invitation to come into his house and the EOB accepted if the children would be ok. Thom assured him they would.
.

like i'm coming home

1
well i was tired and i was lonely
and i needed some understanding
my life had no meaning
although filled, it would seem
yes i thought i was so special
that all i'd do was mighty fine
i guess i refused to listen
i must have been living a dream

chorus
now i feel like i'm coming home
oh lord
i feel like I'm coming home
i've been away for so long
i ve been listening to the same old song
my way of thinking was so wrong
my how i have grown
i feel like i'm coming home
oh yes, lord
i feel like i'm coming home

2
all it took was looking
from an angle so different
one that i had never imagined
yet so strong and so free
now i walk into this feeling
that someone is walking with me
a light up above me
where darkness used to be

repeat chorus

3
my life is now filling
my mind is overwhelmed
my soul is trouble free
by a heart that let it flow
of kindness and understanding
unknown just days before
i enjoy this satisfaction
teach me more as i grow

repeat chorus ( 2x )

Janice’s Dirge
.
.
As the Orb began it’s final journey with Thom on board, he could not keep his mind focused on what he had been waiting for since the mishap in the truck at his front door. Thom knew he was going home but the year he spent with Debra in College during 1987 was not going to disappear from his mind anytime soon. Again, he questioned the EOB about Debra. Was he sure that she was a Wormhole Wanderer. Her physical characteristics were not as pronounced as his. Why was that ? And why did Debra just disappear after one year. And why would she not allow him to meet and speak with her ? Why did she pick this time to view him ?
.
The EOB answered that he had not seen Debra during the previous times that Thom had at the Beach. It wasn’t until that last night that he caught a glimpse of her. She was most definitely a traveler through time. Wormhole Wanderers can immediately identify another one. She was, most likely, from the early 3700s when the infinite knowledge of the cosmos had not enlarged the brains of Terrasphereians causing the swelling of the head. That gradually began in the mid 5500s until it had evolved into what the EOB looked like. Her choice to not speak with Thom may have been because her time traveling period had not perfected the intermingling of past with present persons. Especially when they knew each other. And Debra may have just wanted to watch herself in the past; maybe to have modified some action or incident. Surely, she had no idea that Thom, himself would be there from his future. She may have been puzzled as to how and why he was even there.
.
Thom continued questioning the EOB as to why Debra was with him in just 1987 and not more time. The EOB replied with a question to Thom – asking when did they meet and when did he last see her ? Thom examined his memory and concluded that he met Debra at a University of Maryland sponsored Lecture by George Walton Lucas.
.
.
… Wormhole Wanderers can immediately identify another one. ..
