Dear Blog

Barack Obama was elected in a landslide to become the 44th POTUS.
Obama graduated 1st in his Harvard class and may be the smartest POTUS in the history of our great nation.
He’s a Democrat and Democrats have, generally, been perceived as wimpy compared to the Republicans bulliness.
For intance, this past week Obama held a Press Conference where he mentioned that he has already been in discussions with all the ex-Presidents to include Carter, both Bushes and Clinton. He, jokingly, added that he had not spoken with Nancy Reagan about a séance.
Now, the bully Rupublicans, immediately, jumped on Obama about the remark being insensitive. And in a wimpy response, Obama, not only, apologized but he called Nancy Reagan and apologized, personally, to her.
THIS IS wimpy ! Why ?
I mean OMG, Nancy Reagan used to hold ACTUAL séances IN the freaking White House when Ronnie was POTUS. She, supposedly, brought back the spirits of Jefferson, Lincoln and others. Are you kiddin’ me ? THAT is whack.
No apology necessary by Obama. First, it was based on actuality .. and besides, it was funny.
Obama should NEVER have apologized ! Never.
And on top of all that – do you remember some of the hundreds of stupid things Dubya said ? I mean – OMG ! Gimmie a break.
I just wished Dems would quit being so wimpy.
Now, I’m not POTUS and I damn sure did not graduate from Harvard .. but in that same spot, my response would have been, “BITE ME, B!TCH !”
But that’s just me.

The Washington Redskins .. were beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers, 23-6, last Monday night at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.
There are several things to report about this contest. First, the score was 6-3 in favor of the Redskins just before Halftime. Then, after the Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger was dinged on a Sack and removed from the game – backup QB Byron Leftwich entered the game and fired a couple of fastballs into his Receivers hands, scoring a quick TD just before Half AND another on the opening drive of the 2nd Half. THAT, my friends was the game.
Leftwich, it must be noted, grew up in Washington, D.C. and attended H.D. Woodson High School in the District. The Redskins were his favorite team as a youth and has admitted to sneaking into many of their Home games at RFK Stadium.

I know the Steelers played great Defense but Redskins QB Jason Campbell reverted to his old self. He looked confused and threw many many passes either too high or behind his intended target. And when the Steelers blitzed him, he stumbled around like a man with 18 inches of rope tied to each ankle.
And the running game was just as bad but the play calling was the fault, here. All of Clinton Portis’ running plays were late developing, off-tackle handoffs. By the time Portis reached his designed holes – the Steelers Defense was there waiting on him. Quick hitters up the middle were the plays that should have been called. Then, a misdirection run or pass would have worked more smoothly.
And I don’t want the Defensive Coordinator escaping blame; what the hell was Carlos Rogers doing lined up IN the freaking End Zone when the Steelers had the ball on the 9 yard line in the 4th Quarter ? That resulted in a gimmie TD pass by Leftwich.
And the Redskins blitzed on running plays and on the Steelers long passes – there was no pass rush at all.
The loss was directly the fault of Campbell AND the Coaching Staff !

BUT .. what is of grave concern is the fact that 40,000 of FedEx Field’s 90,000 seats were filled with Steelers’ fans.
Now, I know all about how Pittsburgh’s fan travel well. I’ve been to Washington Capitals’ Hockey games where almost half the fans were from Pittsburgh. But those fans were buying available tickets.
FedEx Field’s 90,000 seats are sold out as have every Redskins’ Home game been since 1965. So, tickets held by Washingtonians were given up to Pittsburghians. But why would they do this ?
Well, it was a late night game .. and the traffic and parking exiting is horrible at FedEx. And many families are progressingly getting tired of the drunken, obnoxious crowds with their filthy language, there. Especially Monday night games.
But let’s place this ticket selling blame squarely on the shoulders of Redskins’ owner, Danny-boy Snyder.
You see, in his quest to make every single buck that he can – he has the largest stadium (seat-wise) in the entire NFL. Add to that the ridiculous high cost of Season Tickets and you have Season Ticket holders needing to sell off some of their game tickets to afford the entire package. And who wants to purchase these seats ? The opposing team.

In the best Division in the NFL (the NFC East) ..
The Giants are 8 – 1 ..
while the Redskins are 6 - 3
and Cowbabies are 5 – 4
and the Iggles are 5 – 4.

The Redskins will now have their Bye week ..

Sunday, November 16 at 8:30 PM verses the hated Dallas Crybabies.
The game will be televised by NBC and can be seen in the Washington market on channel 4. In Key West, it can viewed on NBC channel 8.
