5500 Years From Home

In addition to the 250 plus Lyrical Pieces that I have written and received Copyright Protection from the Library Of Congress - I have, also, written a Novel (copyrighted but not Published) entitled 5500 Years From Home. I am currently working on a 2nd Book entitled The Island that I am about 1/2 the way towards completion, .. but have suspended at this time.

I have decided to, occasionally, post excerpts from
5500 Years From Home in this Blog space.
Today, we peruse the 11th page of Chapter 9 – Page 84.
.
Enjoy !

5500 YEARS FROM HOME

chapter Nine … page 84

Beatles’ Land

But it was quite a ways back and with loads of traffic in between. As the Cab neared the Airport, the Driver asked Thom which Airline he was traveling. Thom informed the Driver that he was to take the Air Freight roadway over to the water’s edge. Without a question, the Driver did just that. Now, with fewer cars in between, the Police car was within a quarter mile of the Cab.
.
Thom saw the meter at just over $ 18 when they passed by Pier 6. Thom handed the Cabbie three ten dollar bills and screamed to stop !
The Driver took the money and Thom jumped out with his Carry-All and ran towards the Bay. He could not believe that he was having to race away from trouble, yet again. By then, the Police car caught the Cab at which time one of the Officers jumped out with his weapon drawn and pointed Thom’s way. He yelled to Thom to stop but Thom ran all the way to water’s edge. Thinking that Thom was trapped, the Officer began walking in Thom’s direction.
.
Thom took one last step and leaped right into the water. He drifted down to where the Orb was positioned and into the craft. The EOB knew the drill and even though his mental capacity was not prepared to maneuver the vessel properly in a timely fashion, it disappeared from the watery deep and was off on a journey through time but again with no coordinates set. When the Police got to the water and looked down, they only saw where the Orb had been. It was gone.

… He yelled to Thom to stop ..
