5500 Years From Home

In addition to the 250 plus Lyrical Pieces that I have written and received Copyright Protection from the Library Of Congress - I have, also, written a Novel (copyrighted but not Published) entitled 5500 Years From Home. I am currently working on a 2nd Book entitled The Island that I am about 1/2 the way towards completion, .. but have suspended at this time.
.
I have decided to, occasionally, post excerpts from
5500 Years From Home in this Blog space.
Today, we peruse the 11th page of Chapter 11 – Page 105.
.
Enjoy !

5500 YEARS FROM HOME

chapter Eleven … page 105

Franklin's Bolts

As Ben dug down deep in his conscience to grasp a legitimate thought to convey, the EOB alerted both men that uninvited strangers were present on the horizon. It was the Philadelphia Rogues and they were riding directly towards Ben and Thom and their horses and the placement where the Orb was camouflaged. Thom immediately assessed the situation and Franklin diagnosed the Rogues’ intentions.
It was not good ! The EOB in concert with Thom and Ben developed a stratagem. He would create a diversion tactic by encouraging a lightning strike to impact both of the wooden structures at the same time. Thom jumped inside the Orb and bid adieu to Mr. Ben Franklin as did the EOB adding that it was a treat to have made his acquaintance. Ben stepped back and waved farewell.
.
Then, the Thunder crashed and Lightning struck both wooden structures simultaneously as the Rogues rode past them. One structure remained intact while the other exploded into a huge fireball, frightening the horses that the Rogues were riding. As they scampered around in different directions, the Orb vanished into the time continuum.
.
By the time the Rogues recovered and continued to Franklin’s location, Franklin let out a whoopee and declared that his Lightning Rod experiment was a success. And it was.
.
With no Time Machine nor Time Traveler visible, the lead Rogue was mystified while the others were dumbfounded and angry. There was nothing to do but to head back into town in the rain that had begun to pour down.
.
Ben Franklin, too, had to return to town in the rain while leading a rider less horse but in a much different frame of mind. His life had been fulfilled .. in more ways than one.

… Franklin let out a whoopee ..
