5500 Years From Home

In addition to the 250 plus Lyrical Pieces that I have written and received Copyright Protection from the Library Of Congress - I have, also, written a Novel (copyrighted but not Published) entitled 5500 Years From Home. I am currently working on a 2nd Book entitled The Island that I am about 1/2 the way towards completion, .. but have suspended at this time.
.
I have decided to, occasionally, post excerpts from
5500 Years From Home in this Blog space.
Today, we peruse the 4th page of Chapter 13 – Page 117.
.
Enjoy !

Vikings 14 - Chiefs 7

Thom jumped down from his perch and made a dash for the rocks that were directly in front of the cave opening, assuming that these 21 men were all there were in the immediate vicinity. He was wrong.
.
Once he left himself vulnerable, out in the open .. three young Indian Warriors leaped from the wooded area and grabbed him before he had a chance to escape. It was at that time that Thom got a closer look at the inside of the cave than he dreamed that he would. The three Warriors led him directly into the mouth of the cave and delivered him to the Chiefs. This puzzled them and surprised the Vikings, as well.
.
Before any decision was made as how to handle Thom, Leif Erickson asked to have a look at him. Once he began to inspect Thom and his attire, Thom spoke. He addressed Leif as Erick’s son and prayed for his life. Thom remembered enough about History to know that the Vikings had converted to Christianity and he invoked the name of Jesus Christ in his plea. Erickson was very much surprised to hear Thom’s words. He understood them from the small amount of English that he had learned from his travels through Europe. He told the Indian Chiefs that Thom must be some kind of God. In the span of three minutes, Thom went from enemy intruder to a God whom both sets of men were ready to declare the Extreme Being and their Leader.
.
The friendship meeting and exchange of goods for jewelry was put on hold in order to worship Thom. Although Thom did not want God status, he surely did not want to be killed as an enemy combatant, either. And so he went along with both groups of men as they bowed before him.
.
It wasn’t long before Thom was given the eldest Chief’s huge mahogany chair in the cave’s highest point. Then, other Indians were arriving as were Vikings from the ship. Thom was being exalted.
