DOUBLE DIPPIN’

Today, we’re going to review two Songs by two separate Groups that are truly worthy of the term: SuperGroup !
Both of these Bands began their assault on Rock Music in the late 1960s and, both, found their greatest successes in the late 60s thru the mid 70s.
And even though I’ve enjoyed every Song that they recorded during that time frame - my favorite Tunes that they, both, put on Wax were 1980s material.

First, let’s take a look / listen to a Live version of:

Southern Cross by: Crosby, Stills & Nash
written by Stephen Stills

Got out of town on a boat goin' to southern islands
Sailing a reach before a followin' sea
She was makin' for the trades on the outside
And the downhill run to Papeete Bay
Off the wind on this heading lie the Marquesas
We got eighty feet of the waterline
Nicely making way
In a noisy bar in Avalon I tried to call you
But on a midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away

Think about how many times I have fallen
Spirits are using me, larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
I have been around the world
Lookin' for that woman, girl
Who knows love can endure
And you know it will (and you know it will)

When you see the Southern Cross for the first time
You understand now why you came this way
'Cause the truth you might be runnin' from is so small
But it's as big as the promise, the promise of a coming day
So I'm sailing for tomorrow, my dreams are a-dyin'
And my love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain
I have my ship and all her flags are a-flyin'
She is all that I have left and music is her name

Think about how many times I have fallen
Spirits are using me, larger voices callin'
What Heaven brought you and me cannot be forgotten
I have been around the world
Lookin' for that woman, girl
Who knows love can endure
And you know it will (and you know it will)

So we cheated and we lied and we tested,
And we never failed to fail, it was the easiest thing to do
You will survive being bested
But somebody fine will come along make me forget about loving you
At the Southern Cross

Now let’s enjoy a retro Video of:

Your Wildest Dreams by Moody Blues
written by Justin Hayward

Once upon a time
Once when you were mine
I remember skies
Reflected in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about me
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

Once the world was new
Our bodies felt the morning dew
That greets the brand new day
We couldn't tear ourselves away
I wonder if you care
I wonder if you still remember
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

And when the music plays
And when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays
I hear the sound I had to follow
Once upon a time

Once beneath the stars
The universe was ours
Love was all we knew
And all I knew was you
I wonder if you know
I wonder if you think about it
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

And when the music plays
And when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays
And when the music plays
I hear the soundI had to follow
Once upon a time

Once upon a time
Once when you were mine
I remember skies
Mirrored in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about me
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams
In your wildest dreams
In your wildest dreams

Not bad, huh, people ?
No, not bad at all !
Not at all.

Now, go tell your Friends .. the way I have told you.

Well, go on .. go on .. be off with you, my lads and ladies.
